Job Description:
- Community Partnership Initiatives (CPI), Inc., is a nonprofit organization with a mission to strengthening community resilience through partnerships building, emergency preparedness training, and a service provider network that assist individuals and communities in emergencies and disasters. The world changes every day, and we must embrace the reality of where we are and be ready to manage any emergency that arises. New challenges will also arise and could become opportunities to provide the best service for communities while working with partners to establish a community-based framework focused on people and communities via emergency preparedness, response, and recovery partnerships.
- CPI seeks highly motivated and reliable individuals for CPI Research Fellow positions starting on or after Month Day, Year. The Fellow will outreach to and engage with potential new partners as well as work with liaisons at colleges, universities, K-12 schools, local community and faith-based organizations, public health and social service organizations, business owners, and municipalities.
- CPI is a nonprofit organization engaged in a Whole of Community partnership building between public and private organizations to form Community Resource Centers and Neighborhood Resource Centers that provide support for vulnerable populations to promote greater sustainability in emergency operations and practices to advance resilient individuals and communities. Located in downtown Laurel, Maryland our office is easily accessible by public transportation.
Responsibilities:
- Daily communications with a network of colleges, universities, and other nonprofit administrators, students, stakeholders, and municipalities.
- Developing strategies for effective outreach and relationship building with new and existing partners.
- Conducting and pursuing communications and informational conversations with interested institutions.
- Onboarding new partners to the CPI tools.
- Providing data to partners on challenges and opportunities solutions.
- Working with CPI staff to provide support, solutions, and insights for partners.
- Supporting virtual and roundtable discussions on community related topics.
- Providing data analysis and data entry in Microsoft Office software tools.
- Conducting research on community sustainability in emergency operations and practices for partners and internal staff.
- Providing research and communications support for the release of CPI tools.
- Coordinating information and working with other Research Fellows and CPI staff on current and new research.
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong emphasis on previous relationship management or customer experience.
- Strong oral and written communication.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive and targeted research.
- Ability to summarize and communicate data with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Previous data entry and demonstrated information customer experience required.
- Demonstrated experience with advancing ideas on campus or in communities.
- Interaction experience with leaders and managers on projects a plus.
- Flexible and cooperative work ethic.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to execute work plans is a necessary component of the position.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office software tools and Google Apps.
